These are all software (or in a couple cases, hardware) projects that I think would be fun to try and build “from scratch.” Some of these are web applications, most of them are lower-level tools or technologies that are used in the development of applications, or of the internet itself. Some of them are newer technologies that weren’t used in the initial development of the internet, but are becoming or are likely to become a major factor in the future of the web (or technology in general).
